Congressman Trey Gowdy and Kathleen Sebelius
At a hearing in April before the House Education and Workforce Committee, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) grilled Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius regarding what constitutional standards she applied in concluding that the birth-control mandate constitutes an appropriate "balancing" of interests. Kathleen Sebelius is Secretary of the Department of Health and is married to Gary Sebelius, a federal magistrate judge. This person was delegated great power to pass rules that are coercive against the citizen's right to freedom of religion and to follow their conscience.
The secretary shows herself to be woefully indifferent to the Constitution, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Congressman Trey Gowdy endeavors to bring clarity to the Secretary on several landmark Supreme Court rulings dealing with religious liberty issues. She is unconcerned and represents the mindset of the permanent political class. This woman is in a position to exercise power to compel citizens to violate their conscience because legislation was passed that delegates broad power to an agency. The Founder Fathers referred to the whims of man, even with the best of intensions, being a threat to Liberty. Our Republic has never been so threatened since its founding.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of greivances."
The Adminstration was petitioned but the grievances dismissed.

From 1607 to 1787, the Colonists learned alot about self government, what worked and what failed.
The Founding Fathers of the United States used 28 fundamental beliefs to create a society based on morality, faith, and ethics. More progress was achieved in the last 200 years than in the previous 5,000 years of every other civilization combined. A Republic with Christian-Judeo influrence and standards provided the environment for the unprecedented progress.
The 28 Fundamental Principles
1. The only reliable basis for sound government and just human relations is natural law.
2. A free people cannot survive under a republican constitution unless they remain virtuous and morally strong.
3. The most promising method of securing a virtuous and a morally stable people is to elect virtuous leaders.
4. Without religion the government of a free people cannot be maintained.
5. All things were created by God, therefore upon him all mankind are equally dependent and to him they are equally responsible.
6. All men are created equal.
7. The proper role of government is to provide equal rights, not equal things.
8. Men are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights.
9. To protect man's rights, God has revealed certain principles of divine law.
10. The God-given right to govern is vested in the sovereign authority of the whole people.
11. The majority of the people may alter or abolish a government which has become tyrannical.
12. The United States of America shall be a republic.
13. A constitution should be structured to permanently protect the people from the human frailties of their rulers.
14. Life and liberty is secure so long as the right to property is secure.
15. The highest level of prosperity occurs when there is a free market economy and minimum of government regulations.
16. The government should be separated into three branches—legislative, executive and judicial.
17. A system of checks and balances should be adopted to prevent the abuse of power.
18. The unalienable rights of the people are most likely to be preserved if the principles of government are set forth in a written constitution.
19. Only limited and carefully defined powers should be delegated to the government, all others being retained by the people.
20. Efficiency and dispatch require government to operate according to the will of the majority, but constitutional provisions must be made to protect the rights of the minority.
21. Strong local self-government is the keystone to preserving human freedom.
22. A free people should be governed by law and not by the whims of man.
23. A free society cannot survive as a republic without a broad program of general education.
24. A free people will not survive unless they remain strong.
25. Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations—entangling alliances with none.
26. The core unit which determines the strength of any society is the family; therefore, the government should foster and protect its integrity.
27. The burden of debt is as destructive to freedom as subjugation by conquest.
28. The United States has a manifest destiny to be an example and a blessing to the entire human race.

So what's "Freedom of Worship" ?
Hilary Clinton recently unveiled the old Soviet Union concept of Freedom of Worship. The secular progressive’s are shoving aside religions that gave us the bedrock to keep this Free Republic going across the generations to make room for the government manufactured social justice and government granted rights. They need to morph Freedom of Religion into just Freedom of worship. Government wants more influence over matters where people's belief system get in the way of the new government policies.
Freedom to worship is exercised when people gather together to pray. But Freedom of religion includes worship, plus public acts of teaching, starting hospitals, making arguments to influence public policy, ordering the internal affairs of religious institutions without the interference of the state, etc. The big government statists need to get religion into a box, not to be influenced by standards of religious values and public virtue.
Christianity is under constant derision. A Cross in the Desert setup as a Memorial by Veterans of war gets continuous legal challenges.
Inside the U.S. we have several examples of Government contrived rules, assertions, and heavy handed tactics to sterilize Society of religion. This information is obtained from the Liberty Legal Institute Website at www.libertylegal.org particularly from the Hostility to Religious Expression article listed on their resources page.
Also visit www.donttearmedown.com for another case of veteran memorials being attacked because of the addition of the cross as a symbol.

Barrow v. Greenville I.S.D.
Mrs. Barrow, a 15 year teacher with her principal's certificate for 10 years, was told by the Superintendent that she could only have the principalship for which she was recommended if she agreed to take her own children out of a Christian school. When Mrs. Barrow explained her religious objections to removing her children, she was denied the position. LLI defended Ms. Barrow and the rights of Christian parents to choose religious education for their children without government retribution. The U.S. District Court in Dallas ruled that the right of parents to choose private education was not a fundamental right and thus ruled against Mrs. Barrow. LLI attorneys appealed and won a 3 to 0 reversal before the Federal Court of Appeals. Following a two-week jury trial, the jury found that the superintendent had violated Ms. Barrow's constitutional parental rights and awarded Ms. Barrow lost wages and punitive damages and ordered the superintendent to pay LLI's attorney fees.

Military honor guardsman, Patrick Cubbage, was fired for saying “God bless you and this family, and God bless the United States of America” to families as he presented a folded flag in honor of a fallen veteran. Though the families did not object to the practice, Cubbage’s co-guardsmen complained to their supervisor, and Cubbage was warned not to say the blessing to the families. Later Cubbage gave the blessing to a family after a request from the fallen veteran’s son, and shortly thereafter Cubbage was fired for giving the blessing.
Sterilize All Morality from Education System
From Lynn Lucas Middle School in Houston, Texas
A school teacher threw away two students’ Truth for Youth Bibles and took the students to the principal’s office where she threatened to call CPS on their parents for permitting them to bring their Bibles. Later at the same school, different officials threw away students’ book covers showing the Ten Commandments, claiming the commandments were hate speech and could offend students.
Government Entitlement Coercion
From Balch Springs, Texas (Barton v. City of Balch Springs)
Senior citizens were told to stop their 20-year-old practices of praying before their meals, hearing an inspirational religious message, and singing gospel songs in their Senior Citizens Center because of a new city policy banning religion in public buildings. A lawsuit was filed to defend the seniors’ rights. The Department of Justice also opened an investigation. The seniors were also told that if they won their suit, their meals would be taken away since praying over government funded meals violates the “separation of church and state.”
