One of the areas of great concern is the double abuse of the Property Taxes  and the Loss of Private Property Rights.   One of the State's programs that must  be eliminated is the "Conservation Bank Act".   It sounds noble, but its not want South Carolina citizens really need or want.  The Tax Payer's Association explains:

THE CONSERVATION BANK ACT The millions of tax dollars raised by this act should be devoted to the General Fund.  Currently these tax dollars are being used to purchase Private Property which quite often is placed under the control or ownership of non-government organizations (NGOs) who are self appointed, do not pay taxes, are not accountable to elected officials or the public and who can own/control property acquired with tax funds.  The purchase of private tax paying property by the government or NGOs, who do not pay taxes, are removing the private property from the tax rolls and private ownership.  The lost tax revenue reduces the tax base for schools and local government or is then shifted to other property owners including personal, commercial and business.

Do you know who the people are behind NGO's that take control over our state land?   Why are we giving them our tax dollars so they can take away private property?   Its bad enough that the Federal Government owns 30% of the land nationwide.   Why are we trusting strangers with our land?   Do the NGO's have an agenda?   Absolutely.   Is it an American agenda?   Hardly!    If you want to keep private property and liberty around for the next generation,  don't sell them out to NGOs.

STATE GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS AND SPENDING MUST BE CUT.

WE STAND OPPOSED TO ANY TAX INCREASES OR OTHER REVENUE ENHANCEMENTS SUCH AS FEE OR LICENSE INCREASES.  THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE PRIORITIES AND ACTIONS NECESSARY TO REDUCE THE RUN-A-WAY STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT SPENDING.

SCHOOL DISTRICTS across the state are providing day care services for children Pre k, 3 and 4 years of age and some even younger.  Parent(s) who have children have the responsibility to raise and care for their children until they reach 5 years of age.  The state should provide state aid for K5-12th grade education only.  All children enrolled in public schools should speak English and provide a birth certificate from one of the 50 states or valid documentation of citizenship.  PROVIDING FOR CHILDREN UNDER  5 YEARS OF AGE IS NOT FINANCIALLY SUSTAINABLE.

Ethanol in Motor Fuel

“Last week, the Congressional Budget Office calculated how much taxpayers provide in biofuel subsidies to reduce gasoline consumption. The bottom line: $1.78 for every gallon when the biofuel is made from corn. Ethanol from cellulose costs a beyond-belief $3 a gallon in subsidies.”  In other words, $1.78 tax dollars are in every gallon of biofuel you purchase and is not seen in the price since they are government grants.

The Government rarely takes responsibility for its blunders.   Special interests are trying to get renewed subsidies authorized for 2011 in the Lame Duck Session.    Senator DeMint says he will vote 'NO' on more grants and subsidies that add to the national debt.
